Celebrate Australia with a pair of indigenous art earrings.
These Australian drop earrings have round aluminium drops. The aluminium drops are photo anodised with part of Brenda Punytjina Armstrong’s colourful painting. The painting depicts a waterhole at Pukara where women would dance and perform ceremonies for the Honey Grevillea plant. The nectar from its yellow flower is regarded as a delicacy and ceremonies were held to increase the amount of nectar.
A special technique is required to anodise the aluminium with this beautiful artwork and provide a silky smooth and durable surface. They are the result of a collaboration between an Australian indigenous art centre and an Australian design company.
The drops hang from closed sterling silver hooks which have a gently hammered finish. These indigenous art earrings are finished off with a hammered silver disc at the end. The earrings are 53mm long and 20mm wide.
